How We Outgrow

AlvordExportConverted_-44 copy.JPEG

My new EP, 'How We Outgrow', is out everywhere.

-
This project came to me over the course of my time living in Boston. These songs were written on the basement floor of my old house in Seattle, in the middle of Minnesota, in my seven bedroom apartment in Boston, on a plane ride home from Colorado, in the thick of it, and on the other side looking back. They feel like family to me!!!

-
At the beginning of this project, I was worried about how these six songs would fit together, but now, they are a perfect culmination of quite possibly every emotion I've ever felt (as I do). To me, these songs perfectly encapsulate how it feels to be "so fed up with this anger", to look back, to capsize, to go back to Colorado, to lose your friends to bigger things, to finish college, to be no more than a memory, to not have room for your ghost, to cry when you leave, to look for you in every room I walk through, to not be there and not grow out of it, (but simultaneously be more grown up now), tom slowly and steadily forget who you are, and most importantly, to outgrow.

-
As always, this project would be nothing without my incredible friends. Hard to put into words what it means to be able to make music I love with people I love and it will never be lost on me.

Production, mixing, mastering, banjo, guitar, strings, mandolin: Charlie Burket

Drums and BGVs on "$100": Liam Fagan

Thank you to all the people and places, named and unnamed, grown into and grown out of, who gave me the songwriting material. I know you know who you are.
